We're not far from the vibrant town of
Penzance, the fishing port of Newlyn, the quaint town of St Ives, (
www.stives-cornwall.co.uk ) favoured by artists for its
amazing light, and several beautiful beaches near St. Ives such as
Porthgwidden, Portminster Carbis Bay, and Porthmeor Beach and the mysterious
St. Michael's Mount.
For the shopper there is our Cathedral
City of Truro, under an hour's drive away or a short trip on the train. The
cathedral is located in the centre of the city and has recently had extensive
restoration work carried out to the exterior, revitalising the whole structure.
Most of the national shopping chains are located in the city centre but there
are also many independent stores offering a plethora of special purchases and
gift items at very attractive prices.
The South coast also has a variety of
lovely sandy beaches some nestled in picturesque coves and others like Praa
Sands, more extensive and serviced by a variety of amenities. Further down the
coast is the famous Minack Theatre, where the dramatic venue for many
productions is carved out of the cliff face and provides stunning views across
Porthcurno bay. More details, including bookings and places to visit, can be
found here; www.minack.com
